1. Plan This is the number one top tip. Above everything else, a good plan will see you through many weeks with focus and discipline towards your goals. Without a plan, you are aimless and this will lead to a lack of focus. This can waste time. We want you to work SMART not hard, and a plan is the first thing you need to do to achieve this. Invest in a monthly planner and schedule in your revision dates and times, and deadlines. Plan, plan, and plan some more.
2. Talk to your teachers and mentors Many students resist talking to their teacher or even asking for help because they may be shy or they may lack in confidence. Talking about areas you find difficult with your teachers and even peers is an absolute must. A lack of confidence or will can be very costly to your understanding in the subject. It is worth talking to people who can help you understand the grey areas. TALK.
3. Practise and practise often Understanding what you have studied is paramount to your success in any field of study. However, this can get lost by the wayside if you don’t practise often. It is so easy to forget what you have learned but it doesn’t have to be this way. You can become a master through repetition. Continue to practise and practise some more. You never regret over practising.
4. Get disciplined When you are disciplined you will fly through your revision like no tomorrow! It can be very easy to get distracted by social media, outside influences and people. In order to achieve greatness, you have to stay focused. Get up and out of bed early, prepare the material you need to study the night before. Get an alarm. Set alerts on your phone. Do whatever you have to do to get more disciplined, and you will reap the rewards; that is a promise.
