The spring break is here already and there are a few fun learning activities that you can and your child can do over the term break.
Family reading time Reading is an essential part of learning and understanding the English language. Family reading time can encourage your child to engage in the activity as well as family quality time. Make reading a fun activity by reading together; bring out the different character voices to life when reading and encourage them to do the same! It will be very fun to see what happens next in the story.
Spelling quiz Many children thrive from competition! Create a spelling quiz that tests their ability to remember words that will enhance their vocabulary. For every correct word, you can create a rewards system such as a star sticker or a point for every correct answer! This will create an exciting challenge for your child and they will enjoy learning for the rewards they can receive!
Trip to the Museum A family day trip to the museum is a very good way to bring educate children from a different perspective. Museums are a place that can bring history to life. We can encourage children to learn from seeing artefacts and ancient fossils or spaceships and astronaut masks in the Science Museum.
Story writing A great way to engage in learning is to write a story with your child. This can be entertaining to see their imagination comes to light through ideas! I would highly recommend creating a storyboard with an option of drawing a picture of the characters and setting for each section of the story. This will be a fun way to get your child’s creative ideas and arts and crafts skills flowing!
